ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the efficacy of laparoscopic myomectomy with a baseball-style suture technique in the treatment of hysteromyoma.Methods:Sixty patients with hysteromyoma who received treatment in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, The Second People's Hospital of Hefei, China between July 2018 and July 2020 were included in this study. They were randomly assigned to observation and control groups with 30 patients per group. The observation group was subjected to laparoscopic myomectomy with a baseball-style suture technique. The control group was given laparoscopic myomectomy with a continuous suture technique. Intraoperative indices and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups.Results:Operative time in the observation group was significantly shorter than that in the control group [(98.06 ± 35.41) minutes vs. (119.39 ± 33.65) minutes, t = 2.39, P < 0.05]. Intraoperative blood loss in the observation group was significantly less than that in the control group [(28.33 ± 9.56) mL vs. (46.17 ± 13.08) mL, t = 6.36, P < 0.05]. The percentage of intraoperative needle-hole bleeding in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group [16.67% (5/30) vs. 46.67% (14/30), χ 2 = 6.23, P < 0.05). The time to anal exhaust and the time to drainage in the observation group were (19.21 ± 5.77) hours and (59.07 ± 18.85) hours, respectively, which were significantly shorter than (25.39 ± 9.65) hours and (77.22 ± 27.07) hours in the control group ( t = 3.01, 3.02, both P < 0.05). The incidence of postoperative fever in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group [3.33% (1/30) vs. 26.67% (8/30), χ 2 = 4.70, P < 0.05]. Conclusion:Laparoscopic myomectomy with a baseball-style suture technique is highly effective on hysteromyoma. It can improve the safety of operation and has a great clinical value.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the failure of internal fixation on displaced femoral neck fractures in adults under fifty-five years old retrospectively inorder to pay more attention to the treatment of these fractures.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>From Junary 2007 to June 2010,18 failed cases of internal fixation on displaced femoral neck fractures in adults under fifty-five years old were treated,there were 13 males and 5 females with an average age of (48.0 +/- 6.0) years old ranging from 27 to 55. Among them, 17 patients were treated with cannulated screws and 1 patient was treated with intramedullary nail; 16 patients were diagnosed as osteonecrosis and 2 patients as osteonecrosis associated with nonunion.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The average time from internal fixation to failure was 23 months (ranged, 8 to 32 months). The quality of fracture reduction in Garden index was poor. The Harris Hip Score was (56.0 +/- 12.5) (ranged,33 to 80). Eight cases of osteonecrosis and 2 cases of nonunion combinated osteonecrosis were received total hip arthroplasty. Hip resurfacing arthroplasty were performed for other 5 osteonecrosis. Because of no evident clinical symptoms,the other 3 cases received conservative treatment. The patients with total hip arthroplasty and hip resurfacing arthroplasty were followed-up for 34 months ranging from 12 to 53 months. After operation,the Harris score was (94.0 +/- 3.0) ranged 89 to 96.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Osteonecrosis is a common complication after internal fixation on displaced femoral neck fracture in adults under fifty-five years old. More attention should be paid to the treatment of displaced femoral neck fracture in those patients.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To establish a method for rapid identification of micro-constituents in monoammonium glycyrrhizinate by high-pressure solid phase extraction-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>HPLC preparative chromatograph was adopted for determining the optimal method for high-pressure solid phase extraction under optimal conditions. 5C18-MS-II column (20.0 mm x 20.0 mm) was used as the extraction column, with 35% acetonitrile-acetic acid solution (pH 2. 20) as eluent at the speed of 16 mL x min(-1). The sample size was 0.5 mL, and the extraction cycle was 4.5 min. Then, extract liquid was analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS) after being concentrated by 100 times.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>Under the optimal condition of high-pressure solid phase extraction-high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, 10 components were rapidly identified from monoammonium glycyrrhizinate raw materials. Among them, the chemical structures of six micro-constituents were identified as 3-O-[beta-D-glucuronopyranosyl-beta-D-glucuronopyranosyl]-30-0-beta-D-apiopyranosylglycyrrhetic/3-O- [P-D-glucuronopyranosyl-beta-D-glucuronopyranosyl]-30-O-beta-D-arabinopyranosylglycyrrhetic, glycyrrhizic saponin F3, 22-hydroxyglycyrrhizin/18alpha-glycyrrhizic saponin G2, 3-O-[beta-D-rhamnopyranosyl]-24-hydroxyglycyrrhizin, glycyrrhizic saponin J2, and glycyrrhizic saponin B2 by MS(n) spectra analysis and reference to literatures. Four main chemical components were identified as glycyrrhizic saponin G2, 18beta-glycyrrhizic acid, uralglycyrrhizic saponin B and 18alpha-glycyrrhizic acid by liquid chromatography, MS(n) and ultraviolet spectra information and comparison with reference substances.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The method can be used to identify chemical constituents in monoammonium glycyrrhizinate quickly and effectively, without any reference substance, which provides basis for quality control and safe application of monoammonium glycyrrhizinate-related products.</p>

ABSTRACT

Implementation of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) started in 2001 with the unanimous endorsement of the classification by the 54th World Health Organization (WHO) as a framework for describing and measuring health and disability. In recent years, the ICF has been increasingly applied to research and development in China, and has influenced the policies of the Chinese Disabled Person Enterprise and Chinese Rehabilitation Career. This paper introduces the translation, training and spread of ICF and its application in the fields of medicine, society and education in China.

ABSTRACT

Objective To assess the sensitivity of indices of hip development in children with spastic diple-gia resulting from cerebral palsy. Methods X-ray images of the hips of 57 children with cerebral palsy ( the cere-bral palsy group) were checked, and the acetabular index ( AI), femur head migration percentage ( MP), center-edge angle and neck-shaft angle (NSA) were compared with those of normal children ( the control group, n = 30).Results The differences in MP and NSA between the two groups were significant. The prevalence of hip subluxation was 20.45% among the children with spastic diplegia who could not walk independently, and the prevalence was sig-nificantly greater in children 3 to 5 years old than among those under 3. Conclusion The MP can be used as a sen-sitive index to evaluate hip development. Age is a relevant factor affecting the hip development of children with cere-bral palsy.

@#ObjectiveTo investigate the correlation between the gross motor function and the clinical types and complications of children with cerebral palsy (CP).MethodsThe gross motor function of 126 CP children were measured by Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS). Then the correlation between gross motor function, and clinical types and complications was analyzed.ResultsThere was a strong correlation between GMFCS and clinical types and complications ( P<0.001). GMFCS evaluation showed that 55.1% spastic children were categorized into levels Ⅰ and Ⅱ; 53.8% of dyskinetic and 85.7% of mixed children were categorized into levels Ⅳ and Ⅴ; 55.4% of diplegic and total hemiplegic children were categorized into levels Ⅰ and Ⅱ; 67.4% of tetraplegic and 55.6% complex hemiplegic children were categorized into levels Ⅳ and Ⅴ; 100% children with normal developmental quotient (DQ) and 91.6% above borderline of DQ were classified into levels Ⅰ and Ⅱ. The mental impairment was more severe; the levels of GMFCS were more higher. There were more visual impairment, hearing disorder, speech disability, feeding problem and epilepsy in children with levels Ⅲ, Ⅳ and Ⅴ than that with levels Ⅰ and Ⅱ.ConclusionThere is a significant correlation between GMFCS and clinical type and complications of CP, and the categorization of GMFCS is higher, the complications are more.

ABSTRACT

@#ObjectiveTo observe the effects of a modified version of constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT) on upper-extremity function of children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy.Methods22 patients were divided randomly into treatment group (n=10) and control group (n=12). Cases of control group received routine rehabilitation therapy, otherwise, those of treatment group were treated with CIMT. It involved restraining the unimpaired extremity with a restraining-instrument, and having the child engage in activities with the involved extremity 4 hours a day for 2 months repeatedly. Before and after treatment, affected upper-extremity function of all children were assessed with the Fine Motor Function Measure (FMFM) scale.ResultsThe fine motor function of all children in two groups improved significantly(P<0.05), but effect of treatment group was better than that of control group (P<0.05).ConclusionThe treatment of CIMT can improve upper-extremity function of children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy.
